Dental plaque
Dental plaque is a biofilm or mass of bacteria that grows on surfaces within the mouth. It is a sticky colorless deposit at first, but when it forms tartar, it is often brown or pale yellow.
Dental plaque is caused by insufficient and irregular oral hygiene.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS
* Bad breath
* A slight discoloration of teeth yellowish
* A white tongue
* Sensitive gums on brushing and flossing – occasional bleeding can occur
dental plaque
It is important to know that besides the teeth there are also gums and tongue involved. We usually clean very well the teeth, but we forget on tongue. It is necessary at each cleaning thoroughly brush also the tongue all the way to throat area. Concurrent untreated infections such as viral or bacterial infection of the throat, angina or asymptomatic pneumonia may further affect the rapid build-up of plaque. Even certain toothpaste could be source of molecules which cause damage of the tooth enamel and this allows a faster formation of plaque due to the accumulation of microbes. In case of some injury in oral cavity a variety of chemical reactions occur at the site of injury together with further reactions with saliva and food, which provide an additional load of microbes.This is especially important in disease states such as angina and inflammation of sinuses, where there is higher quantity of saliva expressed, germs multiply more quickly and therefore the plaque emerge very fast.
INFECTIVITY AND TOLERABILITY
The disease can be transmitted from contaminated objects (brushes, badly cleaned glasses, etc.), which can be the main source of plaque bacteria. Plaque is quickly emerging in chronic patients due to a weakened immune system.
WHAT TO DO TO GET RID OF THE DENTAL PLAQUE
The easiest way is to visit dentist, at least once per 6 months to remove dental plaque. You should choose quality toothbrushes, which have the ability to clean interdental spaces as well, correct use of dental floss and choice of toothpaste, which should not be too aggressive.

It brings a new mechanism and principle of effectivity, on the base of active oxygen substances, which selectively remove harmful microorganisms, oxygenate, regenerate and heal oral mucosa and gums. The active form of oxygen is released in form of tiny bubbles, which you can feel as a mild foaming in the mouth. Release of active oxygen and the phenomenon of foaming contribute to the mechanical cleaning and removal of bacterial lesions, abscesses and deposits on the tongue.
